First quality shotgun?

Could anyone give me some advice on a nice 20 guage shotgun. I was thinking about buying a remmington 870. I can't go over $300 but I want to buy somthing that will last forever and wont be super fussy when it comes to cleaning it.

Don't forget to look at the Mossberg 500 and the Win 1300 either. The way the prices are around here you can get either one of those, plus 3 choke tubes and a couple hundred rounds of ammo for the price of just an 870 with modified choke only.

I'd say handel them all and buy which one feels the best to you. Of the 3(and I own the Moss 500 and Win 1300) my favorite is the mossberg because it fits me the best and I like the saftey position on the tang rather than the trigger guard. But then again thats just me.

Sincerely,
Adam

The Russian Baikal shotguns are worth a look on the low end of the price spectrum. Made buy the makers of the AK. I bought a 12 ga O/U for $349 on sale because it was much nicer than I thought it would be and this is the same price that they wanted for the semi-auto. These have chrome lined hammer forged barrels and will take 3 1/2" shells mixed with 2 3/4" or 3". Their pump was selling for $179 and it had walnut stock and forend.
One year part and labor warranty.
