Hi Everyone. Figured I've spent enough hours sneaking around TFL without adding my 2 cents worth now and then. This is a great site with some fine people. And what a info. resource! Thanks to your input (and the search mode) I've gone and ordered me up the Marlin Guide Gun for use here in the coastal brush. Now how to tell my wife... ;)

Welcome to TFL. About telling the wife, if you're passing through bear country, aren't you suppose to have a big bore with you - for the bear.
 
Cliff - I live in Cordova on the east end of Prince William Sound. Got a sister that lives in Soldatna, she runs her boat on the Kenai all summer long and knows how to get those kings.

My wife now knows about the guide gun, I think she saw it coming a long time ago. My weapon of choice for bear country has always been the trusty 12 with slugs, but I really took a liking to that damn guide gun. :D

Ottergal - Thanks for the, uh, warm welcome. I'll tell you all about my river otter study sometime...yeah, that's it! I AM partial to those critters myself, just named our new Chessie pup 'Belle's Lutra by the Sea'. I was all for calling her Lutra but lost out in the family vote.

Welkome "aboard" Field. If you cant read my entire message its because big brother here in So California monitors all outgo8ing messages and sometiems they csamble the letters around wehn they bput them back togethere again after censoring them.

Must be nice being that far away from D.C.

I would move to Alaska but its hard enough to find women down here that will cook and clean like they are supposed to.
