First Monday Rally – Houston Texas

Just a quick note to all about what happened at the First Monday Rally in Houston, Texas.

Drove about 400 miles round trip to go there Monday night. The rally started at 1900 hrs and ended at about 2200 hrs. I got home at about 0200 hrs Tuesday morning. There were about 75 antis and about 50 pro-RKBAers there. We watched the propaganda film with Martin Sheen – BARF ALERT.

Some of the “esteemed” guest speakers were no-shows and the ones that did show wanted to leave in a hurry! The rest of the “panel” was mostly young kids that didn’t have a clue and young women with an emotional story to tell. They all parroted the HCI line complete with bogus figures.

There was some media there but it was very limited.

The antis attempted to control a “question and answer” session by having folks write their questions on cards. They weren’t addressing the “hard” questions and a couple of the pro-RKBAers got loud and rowdy. The antis folded and quickly ended the rally.

Overall, I would rate this a success for the pro-RKBAers. The antis were effectively cut-off and shut down.

Randy Gibson, of the TSRA, was in the Houston propaganda film. I called him on Tuesday morning and let him know about his image being used in an anti film. The owner of Collector’s Firearms, in Houston, was also featured. Randy’s image was used without his consent. There were some clips of the TSRA headquarters in the film also.

Sounds like Randy needs to talk to a lawyer, and hopefully sue their a$$ off.

Skyhawk, I have to disagree with you friend.

I was there too but i counted about 25-30 ANTI's and about 40-45 PRO-RIGHTS folks from our gruop.

We clearly outnumbered them, and yes, we kicked their a$$ so bad they ended the meeting an hour early.

I was really glad that "our" side showed up. The ANTI's have proven one thing all pver the nation - they fold very easily as they are spineless...

CMOS :)

I am hoping that some energetic Texan will start our own chapter of the TRT.

Any takers?

Ain't it cool when people turn off their TVs and computers and head outside for some fresh air? ;)

In Phoenix they tried to keep us out, but we had fifteen protesters outside with signs telling the press that the Phoenix Chief of Police and the Attorney General were in violation of open meeting laws. The gun stuff bored the reporters but the open-meeting law caught their eye.

So as the 15 of us talked to the press and sung protest songs (well, myself and another guy), another 15 including Alan Korwin www.gunlaws.com and Angel Shamaya www.keepandbeararms.com awaited as the press peppered the organizers with embarrassing questions. Our guys were let in (with another few who had "invitations").

We got the Chief of Police to admit that 60%, nay 80% of violence was drug-war related. We asked if it was time to end the war on drugs for that very reason.

We intend to get a local talk radio personality to host our own "Violence Forum" and discuss those very issues.

Damn we have fun sometimes.
