first full auto

I'm in the market for my first fully automatic weapon. I'd like to stick to something that can use cast bullets so that I can make up the ammunition inexpensively. I've been thinking about a Thompson. Anyone have experience with them? I'm particularly interested in knowing something about their reliability. Also are there any web-site on this gun? Finally, any other ideas about a full auto that could fire cast bullets?

You have to decide what it is you want to do. You either want to shoot cast lead, or you want a full-auto firearm. The only automatic weapon I can think of that may fire lead bullets is an original black powder Gattling gun. You really can't have it both ways.

BTW, the Thompson should only be fed jacketed ammo. They were designed to use fully metal jacketed (ball) ammunition.
