Firing Rifled-Slugs from a Rifled-Barrel ???

I have a Mossberg 12ga. w/a Rifled cantilever barrel, and was wondering what kind of performance(if any) I would see with 'Rifled'-Slugs... I'm planning on Sighting-in, and Hunting with the Hornady SST rounds, but they are too expensive for Me to 'Plink' with... Am just seeking an Inexpensive alternative for this Barrel when not on the 'Hunt'. I do not have Reloading capabilities, so that's not an option for Me. Any suggestions ???

shoot foster slugs in a rifled barrel--cheaper and just as accurate--buy a box of each and bench it--no sense spending 3x the ching.;)

The worst problem you will have is leading in the rifling. Clean it good with a good barrel scrubber after each range session.

It will shoot them, probably pretty accurately to but its going to lead up like you would not believe. Could be a pain in the rear to clean. I shoot foster slugs out of an 870 smooth bore with an extended rifled choke tube, great accuracy and only 3 1/2 inches of choke tube to clean.
