Firing pin not striking in center?

I have a ruger hawkeye in 300 win mag. After looking at the spent cases, I noticed that the firining pin isnt stryking in the center of the primer. Its not terrible, like on the edge or anything, but is certainly noticable. Is this a big deal? It goes bang every time, and looks to consitantly hit the same spot on the primer, just off center. I understand it could be that the tolerances arnt up to "perfect" spec or the chamber might be too big, but I honestly dont think thats the issue here. Any comments would be appreciated.

I have the Ruger varmint/target rifle in a .243 win. and it does the same thing. The gunsmith I took mine to told me that he had the same thing with his .204 ruger target/varmint rifle only worse than mine. He told me that Ruger probably won't do anything about it. I sent mine back anyhow and they told me that I shouldn't expect a production rifle to be perfect. They did nothing. The rifle does shoot fine, one inch, five shot group @100yds is about the best I get, but it still bothers me that it strikes off center. I don't know what actually causes it. I love Ruger revolvers but I'm not going to buy another Ruger rifle.

It is fine, very few center fire rifles I've shot struck the primer perfectly on center. It can be from the angle of the firing pin in the channel, or the angle of the bolt in the receiver, or just plain tolerances adding up. It's not a big deal and I have noticed no affect on accuracy.

It goes bang every time,

No problem... nuff said....

Seriously, MOST centerfire firearms strike the primer slightly off center, some more than others.
It's the nature of having enough room for the pin to move in it's groove, slot, recess, whatever, without binding.
