Firestorm Pistols

Gunner's mate

Saw a Firestorm .45 last week. I didn't pick it up but cosmetically, it looked OK. The price is also right. Does anyone know anything about these guns?:D

Firestorm pistol

TropZ. I saw the pistol at the Dayton Ohio gun show. I think the price was under $300. Since Colt blew their last chance at being an influence in gun manuf. there are a lot of 1911 clones. For my purposes I don't need an expensive custom gun. I only require two things and they are reliability and reasonable accuracy.

Someone once tried to sell me a $1500. Gibson guitar. I told him that I don't play well enough to own a $1500. guitar. Same thing with guns. Thanks

HERE I AM!

I paid $300 for my dual-tone FireStorm Compact 45. By "compact", they mean that the barrel/slide is 1" shorter than full sized. It accepts any mag that will fit in a Colt 1911 and it shoots just fine. For me, I just wanted to get a 1911 style 45ACP without spending $1000+. It isn't a racegun but it will get you by just fine. I have noticed that with low quality aftermarket mags that you can mail order, ball ammo feeds best. I hope this helps. :)

What JMB said, plus...

Llama and Bersa got rolled together into a new company - Firestorm. The 45's are, indeed, essentially Llamas and the .380ACP's are basically Bersas. Parts standardization with other 1911 types is reported to be very low, if that makes a difference. I thought hard about a Firestorm 1911 myself, but ran across a deal on a new Charles Daly for just a few dollars more and chose it instead.

Had a chance to examine one recently. You can keep it. Stamped parts, thin metal, poor trigger quality.
