Does anyone have any personal experiance with Firestorm's Comanche II series 38 speials? I'm considering getting one and any info would be appreciated. I have one of thier 45 compacts and am incredibly happy with it for the price. Thanks.

Welp I know this is a bit late of a reply but I own a Comanche 38 special 4" barrel and I am very pleased with it, it shoots smoothly and right on target at a range of 20 to 25 yards in the 2 to 1 inch range. I would have to say that if your looking for an easy to handle revolver with little kick but has enough power to do the job, just load the 38spl Comanche II with full metal jacket hollow tips and it will be all you need. I will also say that if your using it as a personal protection carry weapon it is a bit on the heavy side, but if your like me and enjoy the feel of a full frame gun that has some weight to it so it feels like you got something there LOL you will get use to it. Oh and by the way I have had some say that the 38 spl wont shoot through a auto windshield as if that is ment to compair to having to use it on someone if it ever calls for it, if you have to shoot someone through a windshield I am not to sure you would be in the right to begin with LOL but I did test that in a junk yard with mine loaded with the full metal jacket hollow tips and TRUST ME! it had no issues HeeHee infact it past through the windshield and through the seat and even exited the bottom of the floor board, so if that isnt enough power for protection then I would say your looking to do more than just protect yourself or finish off game while hunting. Thanks and I hope this helps anyone who may be considering buying a 38 spl Comanche II

I appreciate the reply regardless of the 'lateness' :). I was mainly looking at them as an inexpensive, 'cowboy' look and feel sort of fun gun (I miss my .357 blackhawk from college sometimes). I have had a Firestorm 45 acp 1911 clone for over 2 yrs now that I simply LOVE, and about 6 mo to 1 yr later, was looking into their inexpensive 'Blackhawk' sort of style revolvers as a good looking, inexspensive, fun gun.

Well cool wasn't sure that after all this time you would see my reply, but its cool you got the opertuntiy to hear about it.

I myself just purchase a .44 Special Bulldog Pug from the new Charter 2000, use to be Charter Arms. It is a small big bore hand gun with just a 2-1/2" barrel 5 shot and I must say that I was extremely surprised by its quality and performance. I expected this carry about to be a bit sloppy in its shooting range but found that instead of shooting in the 3 to 4 inch range at 20 yards like most guns of its kind it shot in only the 1 to 1-1/2 inch range with standard 44spl ammo. did find tho when I upgraded to a more power ammo it shot a bit low but since this has a fixed front site that is easly filed, it didnt take much to fix that. If you or anyone else is looking for a powerful gun that is easily carried, I have to say the Charter 2000 .44 spl Bulldog Pug is going to be hard to bet. I had to choices in finishes blue or stainless steel and found that the price differance between the two was only $20 dollars so I opted for the stainless steel, it will hold up better to sweat and such as that. The price is actually just as nice as the gun itself too, I bought mine brand new and only paid $300 dollars with tax, background check and all for mine and it even comes in a neat little hard plastic gun case with easy to use trigger lock. Welp I am glad I was able to help. ttyl
