Just wanted to say I'm new here and so far so good, but i do have a question. I was talking to the guy across the street tonite about cleaning my handgun and he said i should remove the firing pin, so my question is should i remove it? what is the purpose of removing it? and if i need to remove it how do i do it??

So if anyone has any good ideas please feel free. Thank You

Just make sure the gun is empty before you clean it!
Your neighbor was probably trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about. He was telling you that the gun couldn't go off, if it had no firing pin.
Normally, there is no need to remove the firing pin, unless there is a problem with it.
