firestar carry modes

What is the correct and safe way to carry the Star/Firestar. Can it safely be carried cocked and locked? There is no firing pin block safety, no grip safety. Any input would be much appreciated. I've heard nothing but good things regarding these firearms, but technical info is scarce. thanks in advce...

The Star Firestar actually does have a firing-pin safetry. At least the Model 43 does. If you separate the slide from the frame you can see it protruding from the bottom of the frame at the rear. It must be removed in order to remove the firing pin. The pistol can safely be carried cocked and locked with a round in the chamber.

IMHO, cocked and locked is the only way to carry a Firestar. It's how I carry my M-40.

Hello. Mr. Brunner's exactly correct. I carried a M43 loaded with +P ammunition for several years with no problems. Best.

Condition 1. I carried my Star for 6 years and no problems. My HPs and 1911`s also as the god John Browning intended.
