Firearms that were gifts/presents pic thread.

For me, getting a firearm (whether new, old or not working) as a gift is one of the coolest things in the world. Whether it was a hand-me down, a family heirloom, or a gift from a wife/husband, let's see what everyone has received over the years. I'll start off.

This is my wife's first purchase for me, a Romanian AES-10B RPK. It was more of a whim, I had been looking at it for a while and expressed an interest in it. While we were looking at it at our LGS, two other guys ("posers" as my wife called them :D) were looking at AKs and were taking cell phone pictures with them. My wife (being the competitive spirit she is) looked at me and said, "is that the one you want?" I replied "Yeah, but you're not gonna just..." and then she picked it up right as the kids set it down, and said loudly to the manager "I think we're gonna take this one." Of course, the kids were stopped cold at how cool my wife is.

I added the drum and pistol grip later. That puppy was kind of tough to get on. (more about that on the AK forum, WillB).

The next was a present for me being able to get a job in one of the worst times since the Great Depression. I had left my job in another city to be with her, and I found one in exactly the time of a summer break away from school. I had been jonesing for this one for a very long time, I would visit it in the gun shop - much like Wayne Campbell and his Fender Strat (It will be mine...oh, it will be mine...). We were going up shooting with some of her friends over the Labor Day weekend, and he had just bought a new Glock 19, and was very excited to shoot it. The night before we left, we were getting packed and had said, "Oh, by the way- there's a packet of forms from (something) I need you to get out of the car- could you grab them for me?" I went out to the car, and sitting in the front seat was a blue Colt handgun case :o

It's a Colt New Agent .45, 100th Year Anniversary edition.

Needless to say, he also wanted a 1911 after we came back. Did I mention I love my wife? :D

Just a few of the handguns my wife as given me. There are plenty more pistols and a lot of rifles and shotguns. I a blessed.:)

This was given to me by my Aunt last Fall. 1961 Remington Nylon 66 in Seneca Green. It was my Uncle's before he passed away in 2006. This is the gun that he taught me to shoot with when I was 10, 27 years ago.

No pictures, but I gave a Belgian Browning Challenger to my uncle.

I also gave him a Ruger 10-22 with a steel tube Weaver that I had bought for my Dad.

My BIL gave me a Ruger M77V 22-250 that I had bought for him many years ago. It has a Redfield Widefield 3-9 on it.

I gave my SIL a Sig P220.

I gave a VERY good friend of mine a Ruger SR1911 for his birthday.
