Are members willing to add to this?

A database thread where members can list firearms by calibre.

For example, I can list my guns:

Ruger Redhawk 4" .44 Mag, .44 Spl
Glock 19 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum
Ruger MkIII .22LR

Using the search function within the thread, members could punch in say 9mm and see which guns are listed in the posts come up.

Does this have legs?
Could this become a sticky?

Are you trying to find out what I own? I'm not sure most of us are comfortable listing our collections on the Internet for all to see.

It's not that difficult to access information about what guns are being produced through sites like genitron

Not specifically. It just seems easier to list all the guns in a given calibre: i certainly lack the knowledge to do so. Members can simply list guns they happen to know about, not necessarily their own.... All the same to me, and I respect the choice of members not to wish to list personal specifics...

The only folks that know what I own are the wife and 1 friend that I trust my life with. So to answer your question no I'm going to list my firearms by caliber and make and I don't see this becoming a "STICKEY"

Are you trying to find out what I own?

Because it is the question that occupies my every waking thought: "What does Luther102 own?!"...

Re-read my post, folks, not just initial reactions:
I never asked you to list what you own.
I merely asked if people wanted to list guns they know by calibre. One's own gun's just seems like the easiest way to do it. By no means the only one.

With agreement by the OP, I will go ahead and close this.

It was never intended by him to be an inventory of what firearms each member owns. However, the goal to have a repository of all firearms in all possible calibers, would not be doable with any degree of completeness on a website such as TFL, so the end product would not be worth the effort put forth in attempting it.
