Firearm Tripod Head?

Hi: I have been trying to find a firearm support head that would fit on my photographic tripod...I have only found one, but it cost about $300...Don't want to spend more on a tripod head than I spent on my rifle! Has anyone seen such a gadget and, if so, where? Thanks a lot...

Most of the monopod/bipod/walking stick supports sold have just such an item, & it unscrews from the standard 1/4 X20 TPI photographic bolt!:)
Many of them sel at retail for $30~50.

Or: Plan "B".
Buy one of those plastic/rubber coated garage hanging stuff up things from WallyWorld, or Home Despot & screw it into a short piece of 2X4. then drill & add a 1/4X20 TPI nut.

+1 for Wog's plan A. You can buy a Primos monopod trigger stick (the shortest one) for about $30 and the gunholder disconnects from it to screw right onto your camera tripod.

I'm pretty sure his Plan B will work provided you are handy enough with tools to put it together.

More than one way to skin this cat !!

I have run into the same problem and would up making my own. They would never win a beauty contest but they work great. Might also add, that I have found most camera tri-pods to be less that suitable for this application. Surveyor's or construction tri-pods are much better. Home depot sells a really nice one and not as heavy and bulky as you might think. ... :)

Be Safe !!!
