Yesterday I was on a 3 hour trip cutting thru a small town in central Florida (Ocala) when I saw this shopping centers name. It just brought a big smile to my face. It was nice to see (even here in Florida) a town not being concerned with being accused of not being politically correct. I haven't been out west in a few years, but I'm sure they are still using great names like this as they were the last time I visited out there. Down here it use to be no big deal, but over the years with the states growth primarily from people retiring from the North East, and immigration from the islands in the south, things have slowly been changing, so this was nice to see.

There used to be an old west attraction there in Ocala, on the east edge of town a little past Silver Springs. I forget the name of the attraction. The plaza name might reference it, though.

Yep, Skans, that was it - Six Gun Territory. I should have got it from the plaza name. I was there as a kid, too, and I thought it was fun. I grew up with Roy Rogers and Bonanza and The Rifleman on TV.

And don't forget "Wanted Dead or Alive."
The complete series is available on dvd, now.
McQueen's Mare's Leg carbine still lives.

Yeah, certainly not politically correct. Hospice Thrift Store? Wow, so they admit that they pick from the dead? :D

When I started this thread, I didn't realize that that was where Six Gun Territory was located. My parents took my brother and I there back in 1967 when I was six and my brother was five years old. I remember the Indian village, but mostly I remember the gun fights and bank robberies in the streets between the good guys and the bad guys. It was a lot of fun, but it also scared the hell out of me and made a lasting impression with what I thought at the time was dead men everywhere. I just went thru a box of some old family photo's and found a couple of pics that I thought I'd share. Also some other images found online. Here I stopped to take this photo of the plaza sign and turns out that I was at this shopping plaza almost 50 years ago as a kid.
My little brother and I captured by the Indians 1967.

My family and I posing on the train 1967.

Other images I found online of this locations former glory.
