Fire Sites on my Smith

I am the proud owner of a much neglected and abused Smith and Wesson 422. It has the original nonadjustabled sites on it. I want to put a set of Williams Fire Sites on it to improve site acquisition(my big word for the day). The rear sight is in a dovetail. No problem. The front sight is part of the frame. Non removable, nonadjustable. How big a problem will this be? The frame is aluminum or some such alloy with a really mangled and tortured black finish. Where it still has any finish on it anyway. Think I can get an adjustable rear sight of the fiber optic persuasion? Thoughts?

I *think* your out of luck on the rear sight. The front sight can be modified but it's not cheap.

The problem IMHO is the aluminum frame. Can't do much machineing on it.

Dreadnaught, all is not necessarily lost. I install fiber optic inserts in front and rear sights. It's not as expensive as you might think. You can e-mail me if you like. George
