Fire Blued Screws. Opinions Requested

Here's the deal. I'm currently building a set of custom Vaqueros for my personal collection. They currently boast dual .44 MAG/WCF cylinders, three screw conversion, custom fittd (jewelled) Bisley hammers, one piece (imitation) ivories and a high polish stainless steel job that makes nickle look dull by comparison. When completed they will feature high relief engraving (2/3 coverage) and be cased with my custom dual caliber (.44 MAG/WCF) American Derringer and NAA .22/.22mag. mini revolver in a cocobolo case.
For the past few weeks I've struggled with the decision as to whether to have the screw heads fire blued or not. I've decided to let the members decide for me.

I'll tally the votes and then do what ever ya'll decide.
The added expense of doing the fire blue is not a factor but I must decide within the next week.

What expense? A propane torch applied on the heads of the screws and a fast quench in motor oil should do it. Go for the blue screws.

Sound like a punch line in a dirty joke. LOL

I think the fireblue would be a tasteful and traditional option. I love the looks of some of the tastefully engraved silver plated Colts with fireblued screws. As far as the cost I would do it myself. Get yourself a piece of angle iron and fill it with sand. Put your screws on this bed of sand and heat from underneath with a torch. You can get a slow even heat this way. Alternatively you could try using the Nitre that Brownells sells. I hear that it is relatively simple and you can get a much more durible blue with it.

I'm getting the idea that ya'll approve of the fire blued screws. ;)
Thanks for the advice Alex. I've learned something, which is always a good day.
Sensop, only you would think of that. When August rolls around I'm gonna watch you 'round the outhouse at the big End of Summer Meet. Yer just the kind of feller that would push it over with folks in it. :D

Heck locknload, we just got 'lectrity out this way a couple months ago. Some folks are even talkin' 'bout havin' glass put in their winders just like town livin' folks got.
Seriously, we are planning to have a couple of port-a-potties for the meet so folks won't be standing in line after drinkin' Shiner. ;) I just figure Sensop is the sort to push over an outhouse with someone in it or talk one of the city folks into doin' some cow tippin'. :D I'd think ya'lls "garden houses" would smell like.......well. :o
I'll post a link to the pics once the guns are completed.
