Never heard of it before. Any good, or is it crap? I am looking at '6' shot for pheasant hunting with a Beretta AL390 semi-auto, bored out to hold four, 3" shells.

Is this good ammo?

Yes it is good. It is also a little more expensive. I have never found the need for plated shot but some people evidently have.

I guide at a pheasant preserve and i personally use the Golden Pheasant Loads....i like them in 16ga., and in 20 and 28 ga. Yes, they are pricey but so are Federal high brass. I've found that the nickle shot passes through feathers easier than plain lead. More kills, less cripples.

Thanks for all the replies.

Another question - I heard that it costs about half what it does to buy new if you reload your spent shotgun shells. Not that I would feel even remotely comfortable doing this - but - has anyone had any experience with reloading shotgun shells? Is it really worth the price savings?

I have reloaded a railroad car of shotshells, and saved a bunch of money doing it. I have reloaded hunting ammo as well with very good success.

It is worth it.

This ammo will bring great happiness to pheasant hunters armed with 20 gauge shotguns. Performance is superb! Yes, this ammo is spendy but one shot per bird with zero recovery problems is worth the extra price!

We hunt pheasants near Mitchell, South Dakota year after year. The shooting is outstanding and should be experienced at least once by dedicated pheasant hunters!
