Fiocchi Ammunition

Kentucky Rifle

New member
I received my new Hedley back pocket holster for my NAA Guardian today so I decided to carry it and my fairly new Beretta Jetfire to the range. I've recently purchased some Fioccho ammo in .32 and .25 FMJ.
I have to admit that the Fiocchi chambers easier than any other ammo I've tried. Really slick stuff! I've examined it carefully and it seems to my tired eyes that both the case and the bullet are of a slightly different color than the other ammo I've tried. Anyone else notice the color? I'm just trying to figure out why the Fiocchi seems to be slicker.
I wonder if it is made in .40 and .380? Anybody know for sure?

Thanks,
Will

Fiocchi is also loaded hotter than U.S. made ammo. Look at some of the advertised velocities for their different loads. Also, supposedly their hollowpoints are pretty good for carry use.

I use Fiocchi ammunition in my 6" S&W .357 magnums (357E, 1500fps, 720ft-lb) and Beretta 96 Border Marshall (40SWB, 1150fps, 445ft-lb).

I have been completely satisfied with the accuracy and reliability, and they are relatively clean rounds. Brass cases versus nickel, but the price is almost half of Rem, Federal, etc. I buy mine from http://www.double-action.com/. Fiocchi is at http://www.fiocchiusa.com/.

Rob96,

Do you know any more than supposedly? I've wondered if there are any stats on the Fiocchi hollowpoints.

I'm a fan of Fiocchi ammo and recently have discovered Double-Action (mentioned by m3bullet above) as a Fiocchi source of ammo. As far as Fiocchi cartridges being "slick," I dunno. I do think that their ammo is the best feeding ammo I've ever used. Maybe it feeds well because it's slicker than others?

Interesting... I wonder if we'll ever know?

I put a box of Fiocchi .40S&W 170gr FMJTC through my G23.

Great stuff! I got consistant 1" groups @15yds. They fed perfectly, burned clean and were semi-hot.

I haven't tried them yet in my P32.

I can't tell you how much .40 fiochi sucks. Do not use it. Maybe they have gotten better, but a few years back, I got a lot of it based on the word of mouth it was good, and it was cheap. I got jams in both my .40's almost every other shot. Failure to feed. Please do not use it in .40 for carry ammo. I had boxes of both hollow points and fmj. Neither would feed reliably.

Are there different brands of Fiocch? I was unaware if there is. It was either the blue or green box. I had 3 boxes of hollow points, and the rest of the 300 rds were fmj, the truncated rounds. Neither my taurus, or p9, would feed it consistently. Almost every second round would jam.
To be honest after today, I find my taurus a bit touchy on the ammo. It wasn't to happy with the umc I was using either, but the springfield functioned flawlessley as always, so I know it wasn't the gun, just the ammo.

Andrewh,
Sorry.
I didn't make my post clear. I meant the brands of the firearms. I have only one .40 caliber, a Glock 27. It's been quite reliable on any ammunition that I've tried. It's also just "spooky" accurate. Makes me look good every time I take it to the range. :)

I have used Fiocchi 32 FMJ in both my P32 and a Tomcat that I traded off. It fed and functioned flawlessly in both. Silvertips, however, would not feed 3 in a row with the Tomcat. It does seem to be loaded hotter than most of the others.
