Photos show expansion. From a 4" barrel semi-auto, fired 10 yards away, into a mound of tightly packed soil. Not bad I'd say.

Dirt is one thing... flesh is another. The is not expansion......rather deformation.

That FMJ will not expand in flesh.
 
Buy cheap meat from the grocery to test.
And you can have it for lunch later.

Seriously, though, from all the tests that abound on the web, it doesn't seem wise to depend on any supposedly one stop bullet design as a substitute for good defensive technique.
 
Cheap meat? no such animal where I shop...I could use my cat though. lol
And yes, good technique and lots of practice is a must.
 
Nah, a skull is not gonna get that fmj to expand. If you want expansion use a bullet that expands. Save the money on meat tests and extra cats to buy hollow points :p
 
Just curious, were you planning on using fmj for self defense? Or was this just what you doug out for fun
