Any experiences with it? Local place is running a sale on a case but I want a little info first. It's for my Kimber.

Took third in a bullseye match using an EAA witness .45 and Fiocchi ammo.

Shot a case of Fiocchi 9mm through a Beretta 92FS awhile back with no problems and excellent accuracy.

Fiocchi prices are generally good and I think the quality is also good. I've certainly experienced no problems.

I've heard a few complaints about it over the years, but can't recall any specifics.

Fiocchi tends to load their stuff a little hotter than the rest of the factory fodder, FWIW.

I have gone through many cases of it in the last couple of years. No complaints...... QC seems to be good.

I have a distibutor close, and can usually get it on his retail side for about $175, and then reload the brass.

One of my older 1911's is a early Wilson with a Bar Sto. The chamber in that particular barrel is a bit "snug", and I had some trouble with a couple of the other common brands of 230 ball that a lot of people use for practice (but just in this particular gun). No problems with the Fiocchi.

Good stuff! Accurate and clean shooting. I'm currently using Fiocchi in .45acp, .357mag. and 25 auto for my Jetfire.

Even a 230g FMJ Fiochhi shoots a bit hotter than the others, but is a real good ammo. It is reasonably priced too for $11.99, where I buy it. never have any problems with it.

Schmacky - who in Denver is running a sale, and what's the case price?

I'm in the area and just bought a case for $199 from ammoman.

Generally excellent . . .

Have shot a ton of 230 grain .45 ACP over the last years with zero problems. In my last lot (1000 rounds), which I'm just finishing, had one failure to fire due to a defective primer. I put it in the same general category with Winchester White Box, S&B and Federal American Eagle -- and ahead of Remington UMC.

Good stuff, very clean brass after firing, clean on the gun (but after 300+ rounds it does not seem to matter what you are shooting in a given session), and the reloaders love the brass because it is good quality and reloads quite well. I have probably had 1 or 2 rounds that were not quite right (out of spec) out of close to 14,000.

I have two separate cases of Fiocchi .45 230 FMJ, and have noticed substantial differences between them.

The first case (and a half) was purchased last year. It has bullets that are the same color as the brass case. It has "USA" on the headstamp and on the box, BUT the box is also marked "made in Hungary (maybe at Nike-Fiocchi ??). These rounds shoot a bit hot. They're reasonably clean and accurate. The brass seems to be very good.

The second case was purchased this year and bears the "GFL" headstamp. Bullets have a more normal copper appearance and this is definitely a milder round than the first case. Accuracy is quite good. The brass appears not quite as good as the case mentioned above.

So there are definitely two separate flavors of Fiocchi .45 sold in this country in the past 12 months- YMMV.

I suppose I like the Fiocchi, second to S&B for "cheap" ammo. However, the supply of S&B seems to have dried up in the past two months. In fact I'm planning to keep one case of the Fiocchi until supplies loosen back up.

Archer - verrrry interesting...

I, too, have a bit :) of Fiocchi .45 in the cellar, along with Speer, S&B, etc. I just went down and pulled a box from each of a few cases, and found the same thing. Older stuff, with USA on the box and the gold-ish bullets, brass headstamped "Fiocchi USA", with a black plastic carrier for the cartridges. Back of the box says "made in Hungary". Another case, recently purchased from Ammoman.com, no "USA" on the box, normal copper bullets, headstamped GFL, and the traditional clear translucent Fiocchi carrier for the cartridges. Back of the box says "made in Italy". I'll have to shoot them side by side and see if I note the same differences you've seen.

Fiocchi is good stuff.
