Finnish M39

I'm thinking of getting a Finnish M39 and would like to know what other people think about this rifle. Is it really more accurate that the 91/30 Mosin- Nagant? Also, where can I find a replacement extractor for the bolt on the Mosin- Nagant?

It's my favorite rifle after my Swede 94. They're amazingly accurate (you know about the Finns' 1.3" at 100 meters requirement for this model) whereas the 91/30s MAY be accurate.

Go to Tuco's (address above) for all kinds of links and info on MN models. In his link section, you'll find folks who can sell you an extractor: I can vouch for Mark Kubes' great service and selection.

Feel free to e-mail me with specific questions, if you want.

Hammy, They are accurate. I've fired a Finnish 91/30 that was just as accurate. The Finn rifles are generally tighter in barrel dimensions than the Russian guns. However, M39s generally are not as tight in the barrel as are previous Finn models (M27,28,28/30).

Accuracy will also depend on how good the ammo is that you are using.

After buying a M39 and taking it to the range for testing, I was so impressed I bought more.
