I am considering purchasing one and would like to know how accurate they really are. I had a blast shooting my 1941 mosin. 200 yards at 9 inch steel plate with 4x was a blast It lacks in accuracy even thought with military surpluss it did better than I ever could have hoped. I like the round and would like to have something accurate for long range (300-700 yards. Beford I buy I would like to know who else had experience with m28-76 and what mods have you guys done.

Most guys won't mod a 28/76, because of it's collectible value.
They're very accurate and well made, at least one in good condition with sharp rifling.

But if you want to go long range, you need to handload (just like any other rifle since there is no match-grade factory ammo). I shoot my 91/30 sporter at 600 yards routinely (with handloads..).

Should move this to the C&R section...

Don't modify it too much!
The Finns sure put together some nice MN's! I love my M39. Its probably the last rifle I'd ever get rid of.
