I don't know if you knew this or not but Finn Aagaard passed away on 3 April 2000 after along battle with cancer.

He was a hunter, reloader, staunch supporter of the 2nd Ammendment, and gun writer since 1983. His son, Capt. Harold Aagaard, USMC, has written his eulogy and it is published in the August 2000 issue of G&A magazine.

He will be missed.

I incorporate what I remember as his wisest quote in my signature line.

Jim - Thanks for the notice, I was just reading my latest G&A, an article by Finn on the .308 - must have been issued a little before. Yet another of the 'old school' gone and we are poorer for it. He will be missed indeed.

Bloody hell. Another one. This has not been a good year.

Vaya con Dios, Mr Aagaard.

At this rate, there won't be any gun gurus for my kids to idolize. :(
