Fingerprinting in CO for CCW

Hey guys, so i just finished up my class and need to do fingerprints before going in with my application. Problem is, the fingerprinting place is my county is a good hour and a half from me. I work right next to Boulder county jail. Anyone in CO know if I can get my fingerprints at any station and they'll be good for my CCW in Weld county?

Ive made calls all day, all voicemail and no call backs....

E fingerprints...

I'd contact CBI or maybe your local LE agency & see if they offer electronic fingerprints. My local sheriff's office & PD have fingerprinting twice a week.

I've also used a US Border Patrol station office & a VA(veterans affairs) police office at a VA Medical Center; www.va.gov , for fingerprint cards/background checks.

Not in CO, but in TX that is exactly what we do. If you have a local PD or sheriff's station nearby you might want to just drop in and see if you can't talk to someone in person.

Bubba in the parking lot...

If you select to stop off at a cop shop, call first or go online to see if they have a office or time for CC licenses/gun permits. Many sworn LE agencies have crime prevention or community service officers & can resolve these disputes/answer questions.
Don't go up to Bubba in the parking lot & ask if they'll do your finger-print card(s). I had a 10min shouting match with a US Dept of Veterans Affairs 083 police officer about a FBI background check card a few years ago.

Also, FWIW; the main web page for my city's large PD has the wrong information posted about how to obtain a concealed carry license,.

Hardly a surprise.

Last year I took a citizens' police academy from the PD in the next town to the west. At the first or second class, the sergeant in charge of training new officers gave out incorrect information regarding open carry. (He said it was illegal, then when I pointed out that it is NOT illegal he retreated to the old tried-and-true "disturbing the peace" gambit.)

Fast forward to last week. I'm taking another citizens' police academy, this time from the neighboring town to the south. (No, my town doesn't offer it, why do you ask?) At last week's class, the sergeant in charge of the patrol division 9an 18-year veteran) gave us incorrect information about the process for obtaining a carry permit. In fact, the information he gave us was out of date by at LEAST 15 years, because I went through a different procedure (which is still current) than what he described and that's how long I've had my permit.

Background checks & "gun safety"...

We(the 2A supporters & gun owners) need to start holding these elected officials & bureaucrats feet to the fire on some of these licensing, processing & admin issues. As I stated in another forum topic, many of these state & local agencies are now(05/2013) generating huge sums of $$$ from the rapid increase in gun ownership/concealed carry permits. These funds should go directly to improvements & upgrades to the agency/division.

At a state meeting in 2008, one licensing official told the panel directly that the budgets were cut & sworn LE/public safety officers were no longer trained or given in-service training for concealed carry, armed security, repo/recovery, bounty hunters/bail agents, etc.
This needs to stop nationwide.

PS; My "current" security industry regulatory guide from the state is from 2008 & lists the WRONG Commissioner!

Thanks for the replies. All the places I called to fingerprinting cards not scans and the paperwork says i need to have mine scanned before I come in.

I have no idea what to do at this point. One lady I talked to said I can do my fingerprints at the office where I drop off my application, but again, who knows.... guess I'll just go and find out sometime next week.

Thanks!

If you work next to the Boulder jail, can't you go to the group in the city/county courthouse building at 6th/canyon (2nd floor) that does Boulder prints and ask? Sounds like you're within walking distance.

Got mine in Douglas County a few months ago. Fingerprint scans and photo were both done in the sheriff's office at the time I submitted my application...
