Finding right pistol

I am looking for a pistol with the following: subcompact less than 6.5" OAL, .40/.45 caliber, single stack, small spur and under $600. SA/DA or DAO is not in question, yet anyway. I have found two, a Sig P239 but $$ is high and a Para LLDA C6.45 and the $$ is really high(if you can even get one). I am planning to carry concealed behind the back. Unless someone can convince me I can get the same beef from a .380 or 9mm cause I'm old and can't run too fast :D
All help will be greatly appreciated.

How about a used Officer's model? Or maybe one of the ultra compacts from Kimber or Springfield...again used to get under budget ;) Lots of deals out there!

Sig 239? If you get this one make sure to check the trigger first! I checked out two of them before I got my sig Pro and one had a moderately nice trigger and the other had one that felt like it was full of sand. I only got the Pro because it fit my hand better and had a better trigger than either of the 239s despite the fact it was bigger. Any of these are comfortable in an IWB holster in the 4 oclock position but I dislike carry in 6 oclock due to discomfort sitting down.

I sold an officers model 1911 to a collector some time back. He liked its history and workmanship and I hated its SA only mode of fire. To each his own.

Just a follow up.
Purchased the Sig P239. The Kahr P40 was real close run but from advice I got the P239 is more forgiving to take to the range.
If I had to chose a weapon strictly for CCW I believe I would have got the Kahr. And as I don't carry that much I felt I the Sig would bridge both aspects. Thanks for the help

Blade67, is there a reason I would want to change to the P245, given my requirements in my original post? Or are you just yanking my chain:) . My purchase went down like this: I took my wife out to dinner on tuesday and after we stopped at a gun shop. They had quite a selection, the Glock 36 was good but the grip was a tad bit big for me. The Kahr P40 felt perfect in my hand. The P239 was excellent but heavier than the P40. After an hour of looking my wife said for me to stop screwing around and buy a damn gun!!! Now that's pressure my friend. So not being a greedy guy I put down the Gold Cup and opted for the Sig(I'm not stupid either). I am a small guy 5'7" 150lbs, well OK 160, and old age has put some spread around the middle so a smaller pistol seemed to be reasonable for a seldom CCW and occasionally going to the back forty to burn a box.
Seriously, where have I gone wrong with the P239?

You haven't gone wrong - it's an excellent pistol. The P245 is a .45 cal, and like most compact .45's it packs a wallop in recoil. It's also about 0.5" longer and has a mag capacity of 6 instead of 7. For the purposes you described, the P239 sounds like an excellent choice. You won't regret buying a SIG.
