finaly got the right slug/choke combo baikal

I've been pretty disapointed in this guns ability to shoot slugs halfway acurate. After several trips to the range and trying different slugs with 3 chokes I have finaly found the answer. The gun is a Baikal O/U 12guage/rifle combo. I started out with IC choke and remington rifled slugs. They were all over the place. I tryed 3 other brands of rifled slugs with this choke. No good. Moved up to Modified and full choke and began trying some different slugs. Believe it or not the inexpensive fiocche reduced recoil rifled slugs with the modified choke were the answer to my headache. I have always heard that slugs are usually more acurate with smooth bore and IC chokes. I was a little surprised that this gun shoots them better with modified choke. But am happy that I finaly have the option to hunt with slugs.

The IC choke statements are simply a general rule based on many shooters opinions. It isn't always the case. That is the reason to try several slug brands and chokes to determine what YOUR gun will shoot best. I have often been surprised myself.
