Yes I shot it before the break ,and trigger was installed.
It shot very well. I was holding a 3 1/2 group at 450 yards from prone with a sandbag rest. I'm hope to make it out to the range this weekend to see how the break and trigger will help!!!!! I'm not the worlds best shot but I am ringing the 1000 yard steal plate at thunder valley precision!!!!!!!!! So I'm happy!

You were getting 3.5" groups at 450 yards....and you let someone touch that rifle?

That ought to make you nervous until this weekend:D

Sorry, could not help myself!

Well Tom Sarver is who installed the break( he holds record for tightest 1000yard group.) so yes I let him work on my rifle!!!! I installed the trigger!

Range report.
After 3 shots a 100 yards to get back zeroed. I moved out to the 200 yard mark.
The break reduced felt recoil about 60%. Trigger was clean crisp with no creep
I did not measure the group but will post pics when I get home this evening.

Well done! Nice looking rifle, and from the looks of those groups, built the right way as well. Good job! What ammunition are you using?

I'm running federal premium gold medal match 168gr bthp.
Thanks its the first long range rifle I have built. Glad everyone thinks I have done a great job

Man, I DO so love .308. That is one FINE looking rifle. Hate to tell you this, but it would probably be more at home in Arizona. . .know what I mean?:)

Yup I know what you mean!!!
That's the same thing I said when I saw a friends factory 700p
He said build one. So did but I improved on it( at least I think)!!! Now he is jealous and wanting to add the break trigger and to change the color! May do his is some shade of green.

I hear you. I bought a 700P in .308 a few years ago. I had a trigger job done on it and nothing else. It won't shoot 150/155 gr. bullets worth a hoot.

Makes no difference with factory or hand loads. Switch to 168/175 gr. bullets and it just comes alive.

I still think the cold weather where you are will adversely affect your rifle. I am pretty sure it would be happier here. . .just sayin'.:D
