Finally took the S&W 1955 .45acp to the range

Amazing! I've never experienced a softer shooting .45acp. Not that the .45acp is brutal by any means, but this was Tame to the extreme. Even I, with bleary presbyopic eyes, and shaky hands, was able to shoot decent groups. I might have to do something about those blocky target grips eventually, but I can't think of anything else I'd change. I've never owned a pistol or revolver that made me this anxious to get back to the range again. Now I understand what everyone was raving about.

I also took the EAA witness out (recently purchased from a fellow TFL'r) and was pretty impressed with it as well. Accurate, no FTF's,solid steel construction. Not bad at all!

The difference in recoil between the two was substantial though. Hard to explain really.

Guess I need to start developing that "pet load" for it..or them.

I've said for many decades that the 45acp is wasted in an automatic. Love my 45acp wheelies. Just wish I had more.
