I have a Browning BPS Upland Special in 12 ga. and up until recently have only fired shot through it. The other day a friend gave me a few boxes of Winchester 3" rifled slugs: thus far I've been too cheap to blast away with the Brenneke's, I tried the Winchesters out while sighting in the ol' 45-70 for him (same friend) to carry while out moose not killing (see my last post in "What has happened to us?" thread) as a backup/save my ass from the marauding bear while not packing out my moose gun. Anyhow, the BPS did great. Target was twenty five yds. away and I fired three slugs offhand, they all fit into a nice 3" circle right on my POA; looks like it'll do for a bear + birds while hiking gun
At least I think that's great, I'm sure some of you have smoothbores that do better, but it'll work just fine if Ol' Ephraim rears his ugly head while I'm out chasin' upland stupid chickens. I just need to try a couple of the Brenneke'$ to make sure POI is the same as the Winchesters.
