Finally Joining the AR Club!!

After reading countless threads, buyers guides and general information, I’ve finally picked an entry level AR15.

I won a gunbroker auction for a CMMG AR-15 in 5.56mm. The barrel has a 1/9 twist as opposed to the 1/7 twist that seems so sought after, but I’m sure that can be changed later if need be.

My main reason in purchasing this rifle is to become more familiar with the AR-platform as well as owning my first rifle without breaking the bank on a laundry-list of aftermarket components I don’t yet understand. This rifle comes with a bunch of accessories I had planned to get anyway already installed:

1. Bushnell Scope x8
2. Daniel Defense M4 Rail 7.0 Free Float Rail System
3. 2, CMMG 30 round magazines double coiled spring
4. BOBRO Vertical Fore Grip with Self Aligning Compression Lock (SACL).
5. HARRIS MODEL BRM SERIES S 6inch-9inch BIPOD

I look forward to it’s arrival!!

Congratulations on your first AR! Get lots of ammo and shoot it a bunch!

They're really, really fun, and dangerously addictive!

Just to warn you...here's how the addiction develops.

First, you love your AR. Then, you want to get a new upper for it. That's what's cool about ARs, right? You can buy a new upper--and its not even a firearm in the eyes of the ATF! No 4473 required! You can even buy a flippin .50BMG upper, and its NOT A FIREARM! Buy it online if you want, and UPS will bring to your door! And its much less than a compete new AR! Score!

But then after a while, you decide that the upper looks forelorn there, in the safe, without a lower of its own. It looks---broken. So you need to buy it a lower. Now you have two complete ARs! Cool!

Repeat. There is no known cure.

between Firearms and Cars, I'm gonna need to clone myself to work a second job....but then he'll want the same stuff too.
