I've been searching for a SP101 for quite awhile now trying to find a clean used model but they get snatched up within a few hours of listing. I stopped in my LGS a few weeks ago and spotted this SP101 2.25" in 357mag and put a deposit on it on the spot. I was able to pick it up last night and here she is!

I swear it has never been shot, no hint of powder smell or cleaner, I'm gonna change that right away!
Now I'm on the hunt for a good leather OWB holster.

Why the shot gun shell?

Show that to the OP asking why people show there guns with a knifes?

I just use that to prop up the gun and none of my pocket knives are worthy of being in the pic. :)

Nice photos, hulley, of a very nice revolver. Do you intend to keep the factory stocks or change to some after-market grips?

I found that hogue grips made a huge difference in how shootable mine is. It does make a little less concealable if that's a concern - personally I think it's the perfect backpacking/woods gun, but I've never cared for it as a CCW.

I will keep the stock grips for now but I will add wood inserts. The hogues are nice and comfortable the the stock grips are good to go and I plan on carrying this so the smaller grips will be better.

I have long hands and fingers, and found the SP101 to be unpleasant shooting magnums with stock grips. With grips that fit my hand, it was a nice gun.

So, if the factory stocks fit the OP, great; the wood inserts will look better, too.

Congratulations! My wife has problems cycling the slides on automatics, and just feels more comfortable with a revolver, so I bought her one. Great thing is...I get to shoot it too! I bought one used, but has the crimson trace/ruger laser grips on it. The SP101 is built like an absolute brick sh&#house. It seems most small frame revolvers need limited firing of full house 357's. The little Ruger just thrives on them. Feed me, feed me. She named it "Henry".

I just use that to prop up the gun and none of my pocket knives are worthy of being in the pic.

I know, I was just being funny. I commented on an OP asking about why the knives in gun photo's. I said what about the shot gun shell's in photo's?

Very Clean

I have one I bought New, over 20 yr ago. Very nice, and just fits the hand, or mine. But have thought of changing grips just for looks. I have never fired it, and have no intent on shooting. It is one of those that, when you see it you have to HAVE. I could have sold mine a thousand times, but never for sale. What is it about this chunk of gun that drives one crazy. I would like to have another one to shoot, but like the rest of ya, where are they. Not trying to get in your buis, but what do they go for now? In the condition you found that one. When I bought mine, over 20 yr, seems like I paid $300 at that time? ??? If anyone has one to part without, feel free to give me a hoot. Buy or trade for it.
Again Nice price, and hang on tight. Still like to know there value tho.
Take care all, and stay behind the end with the lead in it.

Not trying to get in your buis, but what do they go for now?

No problem. $439, they seem to go for $425-475 used around here and they get snapped up within hours of being listed. I feel like I got a fair deal and am very happy. This particular gun just feels so good in my hands, almost as if it was made just for me. I'm planning on getting the SP101 3" in 327 Fed Mag next.
