I have posted a number of messages about jamming problems with my year plus old Kel-Tec 9 MM. Today I went to the range for the second time since I got the KT back from the factory. I didn't fire any Winchester white box because I have decided that that ammo just doesn't work with my pistol. But I loaded three mags of UMC and fired them all with no problems. I was delighted!
I have changed my stance from Weaver to isosceles and I think this gives me better resistance to recoil. I believe the factory replaced my recoil spring with a stronger one and that this solved minor feeding problems with the UMC. The stronger spring jams the round into the chamber.
I made my own target stand from pvc pipe and put it together using a hacksaw in 15 minutes. This is the way to go because you can put the targets at any distance you like simply by moving the stand. My public range is in bad condition and many of the target boards have been destroyed.
I now consider my P-11 reliable with the UMC and suitable for carry.
