Finally got what I paid for

Took my new GP 100 4" 357 to the range today.
First off the difference shooting a 28 oz,
Revolver like my EAA Windicator(which
I no longer own) and a 40 oz. like my
Ruger is like Day & Night. My first 3
Loads I used 357 mag 125 grainers
And fired true double action. It hardly
Moved or jerked in my hands. Only
Problem I had was I was using a black
Target & had a heck of a time sighting
In with a blued barrel and dark sight.
Changed target for different color.
True enjoyment. Went thru 2 boxes
Of 50 plus some extras. the 38 P +'s
Hardly moved . Aside from
Tired hands, I knew I made the right
Decision in getting what I paid for.
I am now a True Believer. No more
single action anymore.

Paid for

Skizzums posted the pic of my
First 18 shots at 20 yards in my 1st post
"It's a Ruger. Thanks.
First was low at the 8.
The rest were well grouped

Very nice Doc! Glad to hear your GP100 is shooting well, double action really is the best way to shoot. It's the most realistic and it's also the most fun! :)

First shot was at 8. Then I finally zero'd in. This was at 20yards. Had to change targets. Had trouble zoning in black
On black. Have to put a red dot on front sight. These 67 yr old eyes ain't what
They used to be.

I would get Ruger's red front sight. That's one of the great things about the GP100, quick-change sights.

My range has been selling some pink B-27 to raise money for Susan B. Korman. I kinda scoffed at them at first, but I tell you, sights show up good against them.

A slash of red, white, yellow, orange, or some other bright color model car paint, or fingernail polish on the front sight helps against a black target.

W & CB,
Thanks for the heads up. I think my
Accuracy, now, is probably more instinctive
After practicing so much. The Ruger made
The difference. I really could not see
Very clearly at 20 yds. Like I posted
I finally got what J paid for &
Understand everyone's thoughts on
Buying cheap.

I went with bright orange on both front and rear, thought is was pretty nice. But when shooting yesterday, it was very cloudy, gloomy and dark, seemed to have more trouble seeing the orange than the bright white. I do really like the Taurus fiber optic red front sights if they make something similar for your GP

I see Red very well. See what kind of red "glow in the dark" I can find.

It's always the little extra things that counts and if just one person benefits from my experience and mistakes, then !!!!!!!!!!!

GP100s rule! They hold up over the long term even with .357 loads.
