took it out to play, and want to replace the Pacmayr compac grips on it. My 4" 625 wears a pair of Hogues with the finger grooves ground off (feels like the Mikulek specials in rubber). I would go with a pair of those for the 3" as well but they just don't look right.
I'm thinking about a pair of uncheckered Spegel boot grips. I have average sized hands. Anyone have personal experience with them before I plop down $85.00?

I'm confused. Don't the Spegel grips have a finger groove? All of ones I've seen do. The Pacmayr grip that came with my 4-inch 625 fits my hands perfectly. I thought I had average sized hands too.
Although I have no experience with them, this company seems to have nice grips at a decent price. Good luck. http://www.eaglegrips.com/

Don't know squat about Spegel grips, but that 3" 625 is sure sweet! That was a special run wasn't it? If you ever want to sell it or trade, please put me first on your list. Likewise if you come across another for sale. ;)

625, the finger grooves aren't the issue with the hogues, I just like to choke up on the grip a lot and the grooves weren't placed right. My question about the spegels were mostly related to size overall

Drifter, been looking for one for a while. Found it locally but have seen them occassionally on gunsamerica.com, gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com. Mine was made November of '89, and how could you ask me to sell one of my children?

Bullrock, hadn't thought of Ahrends, thanks, I'll check them out.
