Finally got a Winchester 1873 Carbine - Photo

Here's a picture of my new (old) Winchester, made in 1888. I had been looking for a while for a nice Model 1873 .44-40 carbine in good condition. It appears to be shootable, but I don't know if I'll do it.

Take off the sideplates (carefully!) and check the links and pins. If things look OK and nothing is battered or broken, and the lockup seems tight, you should be able to shoot it with black powder or light "cowboy" loads with no problems. (Or maybe when you see that relatively weak lockup, you won't want to!)
