Mrs. sbryce here.
Ever since I got into guns last summer, I've wanted to take a certain friend to the range. She was afraid of guns. At Christmastime, my hubby brought out his Beretta 92 to show her and handed it to her. She held on for about 5 seconds, then quickly handed it back and declined to even look at it again.
My friend has done lots more listening and thinking. Finally got to take her to the range yesterday. My hubby walked her through the 4 basic rules and explained a bit about how the gun worked.
At the outdoor range it was rather cool, and she's cold in a 75 degree room, anyway, so was huddled in her coat. She fired the Beretta just fine. Hit the paper, even! I was wondering what she was thinking, but didn't quite dare to ask. I looked at her closely, but only saw a cold person huddled in her coat.
Finally she volunteered a comment.
"This could get addicting!"
One more convert.
