Finally found the "problem" on my p238, ejector is making rattling noise.

I always thought it was the firing pin block but last night I figured it out when I took the gun a part for cleaning. My extractor is making this clicking/ticking noise when I tilt the gun up and down. My dad has one and it doesn't make this sound, I do not think this is normal.... I never has had a problem ejecting shells, I am worried this could lead to major problems later? the extractor is loose somehow?

I would be able to worry about something more important than an ejector that rattles, I have two P238 and a 938 that I was blissfully ignorant of their rattle. Between the three pistols approximately 1200 rounds have gone "boom" without incident, I think I shall continue to ignore the rattle which is only heard if I shake the little critter vigorously.

I took both of my P238s apart last night to clean the extractors and the extractor channels in the action.

I was surprised that both of them fit somewhat loosely as compared to a 1911. I suppose this is what the OP is noticing.

My guess is no problem. As long as the gun is functioning OK (and they always do--the P238 is an excellent gun) you should be good to go.

Thread slipped from my favorites tab sorry, I have not had any problems ever firing it. I am guessing they just make it large for unknown reason? I won't be replacing it unless something goes wrong.

:)

Yeah, for whatever reason SIG makes the extractors such that they fit a bit loose in the channel as compared to the 1911. No worries; these guns always go bang.
