Field & Stream Store

I hear a new Field & Stream store is opening in metro-Atlanta next summer. Apparently the new store is planned for the Cobb County area and will be located next to an existing Dick’s Sporting Goods and the two places will have an internal connection, but will be separate stores.

So, what are their firearms and accessory selection/prices like? How might they compare to Bass Pro or Gander Mountain? Do they carry black powder long guns, handguns and supplies?

We have a Field and Stream nearby, as well as a Cabelas, Dicks, Bass Pro, and a Gander Mountain too.

I would rate Field and Stream just about up there with Bass Pro, but not as nice as Cabelas.

All of them have decent selections of hunting/ shooting gear, but they all tend to sell near suggested retail for most firearms.

Well, they ARE retail stores, and those fancy stores cost a bunch to build and maintain (which is why Cabela's has so much debt). Around here, the Dick's and Gander sell ABOVE MSRP, by about 10%. It seems most either don't know you can order over the Net and have it shipped to a FFL or they are the types that have to fondle the one they are going to buy.
