Field rifle scope options??

Hi guys looking for some insight and help.

Starting to shoot centrefire field rifle in Australia and trying to decide on a scope for the rifle I am building. The issue is that the first set of targets are shot at 25yds, then 50yds, 100yds and 200yds. This makes scope choice tough.

Would love to put a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 on the rifle but its min focus is 40yds. With that in mind really concerned about how out of focus 25yds would be??

Any other options people can suggest? Looking for a reasonable adjustment range as well

S2 Big Sky 4-16x42 and 6-24x42 both focus down to 10 yards. They have 80MOA and 60 MOA of adjustment respectively.

The biggest differences between the SII Big Sky's and the SIII's are the 30mm vs. 1 inch tubes, and the Side Focus vs. Adjustable objectives. They both have the same lens coatings (big sky designated the lens upgrade from their existing SII line)

I personally would use the 4-16 as to keep the exit pupil a more comfortable diameter. If you get it in mil dots, the reticles are calibrated for maximum magnification, which is nice. The thickness of the reticle would be 0.1 inch at 100 yards, so it sort of doubles as a fine crosshair.

cheers. i was thinking >24 power would be good for seeing the .223 bullet holes at 200m or is that overkill in magnification?

depends on what kind of targets you are shooting, but I would think it would be hard to see at 200 if its just plain paper.

223 holes at 200yds

Gday mate! It's dificult to make out 223 holes at 200yds with a 65X Spotting Scope. The 25yd thing i9s what confuses me. Use a Picatinny Mount and (2) Scopes. 1-4x Trijicon for the 25yd and 50yd. The Sightron, Nightforce, US Optics or a Schmidt-Bender for the longer. There are many people here in the Midwest shooting 223 with77gr bullets out to 600yds. That's when you're thinking maybe 22x isn't enough. Just an opinion. Where in the land of Oz are you located? Have a Tooheys for me.
