Fiberglass stock

I just bought a fiberglass stock that was supposed to be "like new." Well, it's far from such. It has at least one coat of brown paint that's chipped in several areas. It has scrapes on the butt. Is there a way that I can refinish the stock without filling in the checkering (which is in good shape)? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

Hi Bill,

I have used flat black laquer on a B&C stock with good results. I would aalso think that you could mask off the checkering and use some of that "grainy" spray paint that the home supply stores sell for making fake rock pots and such.

If you really wanted to go whole hog, you could take it to an auto body shop for a nice paint job.
