FFL?

I prefer to purchase guns locally. To support my local dealers and see exactly what I'm getting, but sometimes I will see a gun on the internet that catches my attention. As you all know, guns must be shipped to a FFL holder. This can add up to a lot of time and $$. Is there any way to get an FFL for someone you may want to recieve (not sell) a few guns each year? Basically I would like to be able to have the guns legally shipped to me without setting myself up as a full fledged dealer.

Thanks

You may be able to do it if you follow the current political rules. :) ATF is specific about no FFL for personal collections..except for C&R. Also on the application, you are required to list business hours of operation. A copy of the application has to be filed with the area CLEO and if you don't own the property, they will likely notify the landlord that you are setting up a gun store. Also, during the 60 day application period, I'm told that you will at least be contacted once by an agent. I don't know how picky they are about the rules ie: shop hours but I'm sure someone here does.
