FFL...what to expect?

I'm about to "pull the trigger" and submit application for a FFL. I was wondering what to expect in regards to wait time and the ATF visit. My objective is to have a small part time business, make a little money, and improve my collection. In the future I may consider a class 3 dealers license too, but that's down the road. I've done a little research and started the application. Any thoughts or comments from someone who's "been there done that" would be appreciated.

There are dozens of threads on this topic here on TFL, as well as THR and AR15.

Sometimes folks just get tired of answering the same questions.;)
