Today I was on Netflix and I was watching Sons of Guns and noticed that they make suppressors. I have access to the equipment to do so, but found out I need an FFL before I even attempt. I also know that I have to pay the $200 transfer tax on a suppressor if I buy it. The FFL application fee is also $200. In the long run, I'd save more money being able to make them.
Here are my questions:
1) Is it easier to get an FFL to manufacture a silencer or just purchase a pre-made silencer and get approval from ATF? (I don't want to waste $200)
2) If I have an FFL do I need to pay the $200 transfer fee for every silencer I make or just the one time app fee and renewal?
