FFL transfer agent

I got a stupid question, I bought a gun online that the seller said it had no box. Should the ffl agent have given me the box the gun was shipped in? I guess it doesn't matter I was just curious if that was normal. It is the only gun I've ever bought online. It was a pre lock s&w 44 mag.

My FFL (I've used two different ones to receive guns bought online) normally gives me the box the gun was shipped in. How else are you supposed to get it home without brandishing?

Congrats on the S&W .44mag... I love mine.

My FFL calls me as soon as he receives a gun, and since he's close to me, I drive over and we open the box together, he enters it in his books while I'm looking at the gun, and I do the paperwork and leave with the gun. Whole thing takes about 10 minutes, plus a little BS time.

I always get the shipping box to carry it home in.

Depends on the FFL. I ordered a DSA FAL that was shipped in a hard case with extra mags & my FFL claimed it was shipped loose in a big (hard case sized) cardboard box with 1 mag. I would say that is not normal.

Did you ask for the box? If you're not comfortable, you can look for a different FFL next time around.

I didn't think about it till I was out in the truck. Stuck it in my belt and walked out. I'm guessing it must have been a good box or he would have put the 44 in it. O well I just thought I ask to see what was normal.

If the gun comes in a case it goes with the gun along with all the stuff and paperwork except a FFL to me or a packing list.

My customer just take the gun and walk out.
If they ask for the box they get that else it goes in dumbester.
