FFL and shipping a handgun?????

Hey guys....
I sold a handgun of mine on an auction site.....
My question is this:

I know I need a signed copy of the FFL from the dealer where the winning bidder wants his handgun shipped.....BUT --- I'm not an FFL holder myself....
Do I need to take my handgun to a registered FFL and send a copy of his FFL along with the handgun? Or -- Do I just receive the buyer's FFL and ship the gun to the address on that FFL?

Thanks

Under federal law you can ship the handgun via a common carrier (UPS or fedex not the USPS) directly to the FFL. Although it would be wise to obtain a copy of the FFL, many dealers simply will not provide a signed copy because of the risk of forgeries and alterations to the FFL to obtain guns through their license. Under the law you, as a non-FFL do not need to obtain a license, but its a good CYA measure. Just make sure you at least verify his status as an FFL through BATFE's online FFL check system and keep a shipping receipt. The receiving FFL's state law, however, may require the out-of-state handgun come from another FFL; most states don't require this though. Additionally, it should be noted that some FFLs will not accept a firearm from out of state from a non-FFL as a matter of store policy; thus it would be best to contact the buyers FFL and see what they require.
