Fell for an Astra A-60

Was just surfing the net minding my own business and stumbled across this Astra ..

$170.00 so I couldn't say no.

Nice find and even nicer price! Astra and Star both made some very nice pistols in their day.

I had a single stack Bersa .380 years ago that looked nearly identical. Narrow grip just pounded the web of my hand and never was fond of slide mounted safeties so I sold it off. Considering how comfortable the CZ-82/83 pistols are to shoot I bet that extra grip width makes a world of difference. Great deal!
 
Thanks guys, the thought of a double stack 380 appeal to me because more is better, especially with the limited 380 round

The issue is...No Mag and finding an exact mag is a nightmare.
I read that Beretta 84 mags can be modified fairly easy so I might have to go that route.

I have long lusted after the A60. There is one on sale here as well as a Constable single stack. Beautiful guns. Second only to the Sig P232, IMHO.

If I were not limited by storage regs when buying another gun I'd get it in a flash, along with the Astra A70 I saw a while back.

If you care about my feelings you'll make out that it really doesn't shoot that well and that I'm not missing anything!! ;)

In the meantime you may find this link useful. I know the guy speaks english, having written to him to find out about A70 mags at one time. I don't see the A60 listed, but he have means to cater for it.

I've had two A-60s, great guns. One was really pretty much mint, the other had been carried and had a lot of blue missing. I didn't mind selling the one with wear, but I hated selling the pretty one. I made almost 100% profit on it, so that made it a little easier. I was sad when Astra and Star went out of business.
 
I have to say, by looking at this stores Gun Broker site...

I probably got the pick of the litter..All the others I see have some pitting or wear...

Oh I can't wait to get my hands on this gun!:D
 
You should be very happy with it. I liked it better than any of the Walther PPKish copies I had tried in the past. Actually, I liked it better than my PPK.
