FEG PJK HP9

Been looking for a 9mm and have decided on the FEG PJK HP9. Since I wanted a SAO cocked and locked gun. But wanted all opinions about the gun. What is the foing price on these. Also had a question about the 17 rd South African mags, do they fit flush up against the mag well or do they stick out a bit?

thanks Cyric13

Cyric13, I have never seen the SA 17rnd mag so I have no opinion on it. As for the PJK, I paid $199 last year for mine on sale and this is my least shot 9mm. I find it accurate, when I take my time and hold it just so. Because the length of the grip is shorter than a High Power I find it less comfortable to shoot. See if you can handle a HP side by side with a PJK and you will see what I mean. Being stuck between hammer bite or having my little finger pushing on the toe of the magazine causing the mag safety to lock the trigger is not conductive to a good time at the range. Now I do have large hands and not everyone will experience this. In other words, your mileage may very.

I forgot to mention, my particular PJK HP9 had the Russian Wolf 115gr FMJ get stuck in the chamber twice. No problems with any other ammo I've tried in it. Probably due to the steel case and a tight chamber.

Cyric13, I've owned a PJK-9HP for 9 months and it is my MOST used pistol. I really enjoy it. Feels great in my hand (my hand is probably smaller than Gregg, but I'm 6' and 160lbs, so pretty average. Mine shoots 3" groups at 25yds when I do my part. Very reliable. I've never had a problem with hammer bite, either.

I really like the 17rnd SA mags. They do stick out below the grip about 3/8 inch, but at least they look nice doing it.

I think that, if you do a search, you'll find several more threads with compliments on the FEG.

Cyric13,

The South African magazines do not fit flush, but stick out about a half to three-quarters of an inch. They are a wise addition for owners of the HighPower and clones.

Just a heads up about them; initially, to get 17 rounds in them is very difficult. Load what you can (15 or 16 rounds) and let them sit for a week or so. The springs will then be relaxed enough to get the remaining rounds loaded.
