FEG model number question

Can someone please tell me whats the difference between
the current FEG'S Model Numbered PJK-9HP , and the one i have
"P9R " ? Thanks

I have worked with both, but am not sure I recall. I would be glad to be corrected, but I think the R9 is an almost exact copy of the original pre-war BHP; the PJK-9HP is upgraded a bit and is a copy of the later BHP. Better controls, different hammer, etc.

The FEG P9R is DA/SA Smith and Wesson M59 copy!

The P9R is a Smith and Wesson derived pistol. The PJK-9HP is a Browning HP copy. I have one, so far, all Browning parts and accessories will interchange. Mine is an older one, the new productions made modifications to the barrel, I'm told the new ones have three locking lugs as opposed to two. The older ones imported by KBI are 100% FN/Browning compatible

Thanks very much for all the help , the one in the picture
is the exact one i have. I never knew it was related to s&w.
Thankyou

Hi, all,

My apology for a faulty memory. Next time I will double check. I don't think Chrismc1 means that there is any connection between FEG and S&W, only that the P9R uses a trigger and sear system like the S&W Model 39/59 and derivatives, although the gun looks a bit like the Browning HP, which is probably what confused me.

My new PJK-9HP has exactly the same model number as the earlier FEG, but the design has changed significantly!

The new model is matt black, and uses a different lock up than the original gloss blue HP clone.

Mine has lugs on the sides of the barrel foot, which engage slots in the sides of the frame, to pull the barrel down and out of lockup.

The earlier version used a slotted barrel foot that engaged a stop pin in the frame (ala HP), and the oblong ends of the stop pin are visible on the side of the frame.

Mine appears to be very reliable, and fed all my hand loads perfectly, until I managed to lead up the chamber with some soft bullets I was experimenting with. Ran a brass brush down the barrel a few times, and it fed everything else perfectly.

This gun looks like crap, but shoots and handles well for an inexpensive gun. :)

Seeker,

Apparently, FEG is very loose with their part numbers! :D

I've seen no less than three distinctly different models with the same part number! Must be fun ordering parts. :(

Yours has the HP lockup system of the original PJK-9HP, but I've not noticed the rib on the ones I've looked at?

Seeker,my FP-9 appears identical to your gun except that mine came with black checkered plastic grips and has a slightly longer spur to protect against blood loss from the hammer.
