Feedback on Streamlight TLR-2 laser/light combo?

I just ordered the Streamlight TLR-2 laser/LED light combo from Biotach for $199.00. I liked it has a lifetime factory warranty and is made of all aluminum. Anyone have any feedback?

I would be curious as to see how you got it for $199.95 seeing as how it runs about 440 normally if it is the same one I am thinking of. The one that I am thinking of is great it has the option to turn the laser feature off or on seperately, or to have it come on whe the light. I like the taclight and would recommend it to anyone.

Do not know what just happened but as I was saying I got my TLR-2 last week for $199.00 with free shipping from Biotach. At first they shipped a TLR-1 by mistake but then they ordered a UPS pick-up and sent the right light/laser to me. I am VERY happy with the TLR-2. I can use it on my Glock and have a rail mount for my 870 . The light is a 3 watt LED ( can not burn out or break like a bulb) that is very bright and runs for 2 1/2 hours and the laser also is very bright. You can use the light with or without the laser on. Very well made metal body instead of plastic.I also got a holster for the light and can use it as a flashlight by itself. After doing my homework I am sure that it is the best light/laser unit made to date. Lifetime warranty does not hurt.

Tactical Junkie- if you look on E-Bay you will see several companies that sell it for $199 but I ordered from Biotach before and they are OK, not great but eventually you get the product. They sell the Surefire M6 for $220 (what I paid) and it has a list of over $500.

So was their price for you a mistake which has been changed now? Because the tlr-2 is $299 at local gun shop, not $199. Am I understanding this right?

Thanks for the review. Sound good, but a couple other Streamlight products I've bought in the past have been sketchy - particularly the large rechargeable home flashlight.

No, if you go to their site you will see a picture of the TLR-2 with their price of $199 and free shipping. They can be a messed up company to deal with as I just got an e-mail today saying the sent out another TLR-2 to me when I already got the only one I wanted from them. I will just have them pick it up with UPS and call my credit card to be sure they are going to collect another $199.

www.botac.com They are now not offering free shipping but the TLR-2 is still$199.00 last I looked. GREAT light/laser. Suggest you pay with credit card to protect yourself better.

OK, got it. It IS very cool. Only complaint I have is the fragility/smallness of the windage/elevation adjustment inserts on the laser, combined with the excessive stiffness of the adjustment - not a good combination. The windage adjustment worked fine, but the elevation adjustment was so stiff that it stripped the edges off of the tiny supplied allen wrench - had to use the short arm of the allen to adjust it - finally got it to move. At least it stripped the wrench and not the insert, thank goodness - at least streamlight used enough hardness/quality in the insert to handle that issue.

Anyway, now guys I finally have the "perfect" setup that I had been envisioning for several years as my *ultimate* home defense pistol. CZ 75 SP01 Tactical, 18+1 in 9x19mm, night sights, decocker, Hakan grips, and streamlight TLR-2 light/laser. Who wants a pic? Very pleased here. :)

Also, thumbs up for Botach - shipped promptly with the free 20 extra batteries. Good service and good deal from them.

In fact, how much are those batteries by themselves, ordinarily? Do you know, skeeter? Because this experience *truly* highlights and exposes for me how badly you can get raked over the coals in a retail establishment, and how important internet shopping is before buying. This was $199 plus shipping WITH the 20 extra batteries. In my gunstore, it was $299, plus 8.375% tax, and NO extra batteries. Unbelievable difference. Before I ordered from botach, I even went so far as to print out botach's webpage showing the price, and took it in to the store - I was going to tell them that they didn't even have to MATCH the $199; just get close, to say $210 plus tax. But they wouldn't even hear of it, saying that they don't even TRY to match or consider internet deals - that's just not their niche. OK, fine with me; fine with them apparently. But it's a real eye-opener in this wonderful game known as retail markup.

Just saw today that 2 batteries are $8.99 at local store. I know that is high though. Happy you got the free batteries, wish I waited to buy. Isn't this TLR-2 great!! They make a mount for the mag tube of your shotgun and I have that too. Really surprised at how the 3 watt LED REALLY lights up the night.
My H3 "stealer"(dealer) wanted $97 for a air sensor for the wheels. www.GMpartsdirect.com sold new GM sensors to me for $30 each. That is a really big mark up.

Found one website selling a 4 pack of batteries for roughly $11.00. So that means the 20 batteries adds about $55 to the value.

So,

Local store, for everything including the batts, would have been after tax, $383.64. Really more than that, because the batts would not have been at that low of price at the retail store.

Botach, for everything, $207.

So that means the total price at the local store is at least 85.33% higher than online.
