FedEx made me aware that I am a victim of discrimination!

Statement from FedEx:

"FedEx is a common carrier under Federal law and therefore does not and will not deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views...FedEx has never set or changed rates for any of our millions of customers around the world in response to their politics, beliefs or positions on issues."

When Federal Express came out with the above statement it made me think. I am being discriminated against because of my political views, beliefs and positions on the issues. Just because I believe in the 2nd Amendment doesn't make me less of a person. There was one individual in the news screaming that I am a terrorist and have the blood of children on my hands. I can assure that person that I have never entertained the thought of "terrorism" nor do I believe my actions have ever endangered children. That was an offensive unfair statement leveled at 2nd Amendment supporters.

Imagine the signs placed on businesses decades ago which say "XXX may not do business here" or "XXX may not apply". Basically there are groups of people out there...who shall remain nameless...that are screaming on public stages not to do business with people who support the 2nd Amendment.

Ive come to the conclusion I am a victim of discrimination. There are some people out there who believe that certain people in society...people they disagree with...should be discriminated against. However, there are parts of the Declaration I might point out...such as all people created equal and justice for all. Accusing me of "terrorism", telling me who I should do business with or telling others not to do business with me and discriminating against me because of my views on the issue...versus engaging in an honest civilized debate...goes against that spirit of equality and justice.

Let me end this post by stating. I do not appreciate being victimized because of my beliefs. As a reminder, the security of society is the primary responsibility of the police. Competent and motivated officers should be placed in strategic positions to maximize that security. The police should be taking serious all reports of threats to our security and well being. The leadership of these law enforcement agencies should be more competent and qualified then the officers they manage and supervise. They shouldn't be tending to politics or political events, but the agency they manage and supervise first and foremost. People who are obviously not mentally well should be tended to and examined and not let get to the point of critical mass. If those concepts were well tended to then we would not be at the point we are today.

FedEx & UPS could kiss my..........
They charge a very high price to ship handguns simply because they can't trust their employees.

And don't get me started on their Hazmat fees.
Another arbitrary fee.

I just had to get that out.

Umm ... Declaration of Independence, not Constitution.

As for FedEx charging a little more some people might feel more comfortable walking into a non-government related entity with their firearms. There are many laws, rules and regulations out there and they are constantly changing. How do I know I am not breaking one of them by walking into the post office with my properly packaged firearms. You pay a little more for the sake of comfort.

You should most certainly call the post office ahead of time and you can obtain the most current direction in that regard, but still you get this awkward feeling that somehow you might violate some rules or laws even if very careful. If you do a Google search there seems to be some debate as to whether you can bring firearms onto postal property at all. Thus FedEx gives some piece of mind for those who are most careful about these matters.

Every choice you or a business makes is an act of selection, aka discrimination.

Don't do business with them and skewer them on Yelp, Angie's List, BBB, Google Reviews or Foursquare. File a small claims suit, or take it federal.

From a practical perspective, they are setup to handle any legal pain, and don't really care about you or online reviews. (They probably are customers of "Reputation.com", who will write 100 positive reviews for every negative you could write, burying your input.)

Their focus isn't on individuals, it's businesses, so they probably don't really care about anyone wanting to ship a "second amendment item".

If they don't want my business, fine. Same with companies that post no concealed carry on-premise.
